Upon completion of the First Aid Course, the candidate will receive a same-day certificate and card valid for 3 years.

    1. The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
    2. How to assess an incident
    3. How to conduct a secondary survey
    4. How to assess an unresponsive casualty
    5. How to manage a casualty who is bleeding (severe and minor)
    6. How to manage a casualty who is in shock
    7. How to manage a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints
    8. How to manage a casualty with suspected head, spinal injuries and/or chest injuries.
    9. Seizures, choking and fainting
    10. Asthma
    11. Burns and scalds
    12. Poisoning
    13. Eye injury
    14. Low blood sugar
    15. Severe allergic reaction

The instructors of our Mental Health First Aid course are qualified and experienced professionals in the fields of health and safety, with extensive knowledge in construction and risk management. Our Skills Learning Trainers are equipped with numerous health and safety qualifications, including the NEBOSH General Certificate and the NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety, which exceed the industry’s required standard. This ensures that the delivery of the course is of exceptional quality.

This course is highly interactive and will be taught with practical sessions, group work and quizzes.

The examination for the First Aid course will be a multiple choice exam at the end and a practical assessment. Successful candidates will be provided with the certificate and card before finishing the course.

Renewals: The First Aid Course Certificate is valid for 3 years and after this, candidates can undertake a 1 day refresher course to maintain the certificate for a further 3 years.

Our training is designed to equip employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and support colleagues who may be experiencing mental health issues. The course is delivered by experienced trainers who are well-versed in the latest mental health research and practices.

 

We understand that it can be difficult for companies to send their employees to external training courses. That’s why we offer the option of having a trainer come to your premises and deliver the course there. This can be arranged as long as there are a minimum of 6 candidates.

Are there any prerequisites for the Course?                                                                                                                                                                               The course does not require any prerequisites.   

 What are the hours of the course?                                                                                                                                                                                       Awesome! Just to let you know, our courses are usually scheduled around midday, from 12 pm to 5 pm, and are available on both weekdays and weekends. Hope that helps!
