HOW TO GET AN SIA LICENCE

Pass the course
Completion of the training course is estimated to take approximately six days and includes both multiple choice exams and a practical assessment. The course’s evaluation is based on the aforementioned components, and successful completion of them is required.
Complete the licence application on the SIA website
The fee for initiating a license application is set at £184. Upon submission, the Security Industry Authority (SIA) will revert within 25 business days, albeit in rare cases, the timeline may extend up to 6 weeks.
Complete identity checks
To complete your SIA application, you will need to verify your identity, particularly your photo ID. The most convenient way to do this is by visiting the Post Office. Alternatively, you can ask someone who holds a British passport and is not related to you to sign the back of your photo ID.
Submit application to the SIA
The SIA shall be responsible for verifying the authenticity of your identity and performing a thorough background check on your criminal records. In the event that you have resided outside the country for a period exceeding six months, it may be necessary for you to furnish further supporting evidence.
Receive your 3 year licence in the post
You are finally licensed! Your SIA Licence is valid for 3 years.
